PAI Food Allergy issueThe Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (PAI) "Food Allergy" virtual issue is here. Associate Professor Rachel Peters, Centre for Food Allergy Research (CFAR) Associate Investigator was associate editor and contributed to editorials about the burden of food allergy on children and teens.

Food allergy is a growing global pandemic affecting people of all ages, especially young children, PAI wrote. Food allergy negatively impacts patients' and caregivers quality of life and has a significant burden in the national healthcare systems. Over the last five years, there have been important breakthroughs in the field, however there are still important knowledge gaps regarding pathogenic mechanisms and important unmet needs.

The issue compiled a range of expert driven reviews, highlighting the most recent developments in the field and recommends Original Articles, covering new findings and studies to broaden our understanding and encourage continuous research for the better of our patients and their families. A number of CFAR experts contributed to publications featured in the special issue.

PAI is the official journal of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
