Dr Paxton Loke

Dr Paxton Loke, of Murdoch Children's Research Institute's Allergy & Immunology Group, was awarded the Outstanding Oral Abstract prize at EAACI 2025 in Glasgow.

His abstract titled, Patterns of peanut ingestion in remission vs desensitized patients after completion of peanut oral immunotherapy at 3-years post-treatment, highlighted results from the PPOIT-003 Long-Term Follow-Up Study.

The three-year post-treatment results on PRT120 showed:

  • 93% of children in remission continued to eat peanuts safely at three years post-treatment
  • No moderate or severe reactions or rescue adrenaline use
  • Children who were only desensitised struggled with daily dosing and continued to experience reactions.

Congratulations Dr Loke - who presented the work with support from a CFAR3 Travel Grant - Professor Mimi Tang and team!
